Adding games to your Trimui Smart Pro can sometimes be confusing, especially if you’re not sure where to start. You might have tried to put your favorite game ROMs onto the device but found that they don’t show up or won’t run properly. Maybe you’re unsure about which folders to use or how to handle BIOS files needed for some emulators. These issues can be frustrating, but don’t worry we’ve got you covered.

Use a High-Quality SD Card

Before you begin, it’s important to use a high-quality, original branded SD card with your Trimui Smart Pro. The stock SD card that comes with the device might include ROMs that are buggy or cause problems during gameplay. Using a reliable SD card ensures better performance and reduces the risk of data corruption.

Benefits of using a branded SD card:

  • Improved Reliability: Less chance of errors or game crashes.
  • Faster Load Times: Speeds up game loading and saves.
  • Longer Lifespan: Durable and less prone to wear and tear.

Step 1: Connect Your SD Card to Your PC

First, remove the SD card from your Trimui Smart Pro. Use an SD card reader to connect it to your computer or use a USB Cable with USB storage.

Step 2: Locate the ROMs Folder

Once your SD card is connected:

  1. Open the SD card folder on your computer.
  2. Navigate to the Roms folder. Inside, you’ll find subfolders for each gaming system supported by the Trimui Smart Pro.

Step 3: Add Your Game ROMs

Copy your game ROM files into the corresponding system folders. For example:

  • Place NES game files into the NES folder.
  • Place Game Boy Advance game files into the GBA folder

Step 4: Add BIOS Files (If Required)

Some emulators need BIOS files to run games properly. To add BIOS files:

  1. Navigate back to the main directory of the SD card.
  2. Go to the RetroArch folder, then open .retroarch, and finally the system folder.
  3. Copy your BIOS files into the system folder.

Step 5: Safely Eject the SD Card

After transferring your files:

  1. Close all open folders and files related to the SD card.
  2. Eject the SD card safely from your computer to prevent data corruption.
  3. Insert the SD card back into your Trimui Smart Pro or just unplug usb.

Step 6: Enjoy Your Games

Power on your Trimui Smart Pro. The new games should appear in their respective emulators, ready to play.

What to Do If Your Games Don’t Appear

  • Check File Placement: Make sure you placed the ROM files in the correct system folders inside the Roms directory. For example, NES games should be in the NES folder.
  • Verify File Formats: Ensure your ROM files are in a compatible format. Some emulators may not recognize compressed files like .zip or .rar. If necessary, extract the files so they have extensions like .nes, .gba, .snes, etc.
  • Add Necessary BIOS Files: If certain games won’t start, the emulator might require specific BIOS files. Double-check that you’ve placed these BIOS files in the RetroArch > .retroarch > system folder.
  • Restart the Device: Sometimes, simply restarting the Trimui Smart Pro can help the system recognize new files.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure your device is running the latest firmware, as updates can improve compatibility with games.
  • Custom OS: Use a good CFW where add better management of the OS. Here’s an article about it: click here
